Help Us Teach Life-Saving Skills: Volunteer with Sisters-Camp Sherman Fire Corps

Every month, community members gather at our station to learn how to respond to cardiac arrests, choking, and medical emergencies. These essential American Heart Association "Heartsaver" classes are run by the Fire Corps—and we are looking for passionate volunteers to join our team!

How You Can Help

You don’t need to be a paramedic to make an impact. We need volunteers to help with:

• Classroom Support: Welcoming students, managing registration, and setting up video-based modules.
• Skills Assessment: Assisting instructors as students practice and test their skills (compressions, breaths, stopping bleeding, and using AEDs/EpiPens).
• Community Outreach: Helping us spread the word so more residents get certified.

Class Overview

• The Schedule: Classes are held periodically on a full-day schedule, starting at 9:00 AM and finishing in the mid-afternoon.
• The Location: Sisters-Camp Sherman Fire District Community Hall (301 S. Elm Street).
• The Content: Basic-level, general audience training covering medical, injury, and environmental emergencies, alongside hands-on CPR/AED practice.
