FireCorps Events

The Sisters-Camp Sherman Fire & Ambulance Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the essential mission of the Sisters-Camp Sherman Fire District. Our role is focused on protecting life and property by providing crucial support for our career and volunteer first responders and fostering a safer community. We achieve this through various initiatives, including fundraising for equipment, organizing community safety programs, and supporting local events like the annual Community Christmas Dinner, Spirit of Christmas Food and Toy Drive, Easter Egg Hunt and the Jim Gentry Scholarship Fund. Essentially, we are the dedicated community arm that helps ensure the Fire District has the resources and public engagement needed to provide the highest level of service.

The Association and the Fire Corps are two separate groups that work together to support the overall mission of the Sisters-Camp Sherman Fire District.

The Fire Corps is a dedicated group of non-emergency volunteers who perform administrative and logistical support tasks for the Fire District. Their main goal is to free up first responders to focus on emergencies.

Public Education and Prevention: They are heavily involved in community risk reduction, offering programs like Smoke Alarm Installations, Address Sign distribution, and Blood Pressure Clinics.

Logistical Support: They help with non-emergency functions at the station, such as administrative tasks, vehicle maintenance, and providing rehabilitation (food and hydration) during large incidents or training exercises like "Burn to Learn."

Specialized Assistance: Their roles cover a wide range, from community outreach and taking photographs during events to assisting with the Car Seat Program and other public safety initiatives.

In short: Fire Corps provides the non-emergency hands-on volunteer labor and executes many of the public safety programs.
